The meeting discussed the development of civil aviation, as well as the current state and future prospects of Air Astana.
- Air Astana is our flag carrier. We have created it with Richard Evans. A great deal of effort has been put into that over the years. Today the company has made a good showing and has a successful image, - the Head of State noted.
The meeting attendees told the President of Kazakhstan about the recent trends on the global markets of air transportation. In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev heard the report on the work to introduce elements of the British aviation safety management model.
Based on the information of the Minister for Investment and Development, in 2018, in Kazakhstan, there are launched flights in 13 directions, and a pilot project of the “open skies” implemented in Astana.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of State, noting the importance of increasing the availability of air transportation services for the population, ordered the creation of a cheap flight carrier as a successor of Air Astana, which will provide transportation services at lower tariffs.
