The Head of State underscored cooperation with the Russian Federation in the space sector, including Baikonur Cosmodrome functioning.
- Just yesterday my visit to the Russian Federation was completed. I assess it as very successful. I have had meaningful talks with President of Russia Vladimir Putin, including on the subject you are in charge of. Relevant projects are under consideration by both parties, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
In turn, the head of Roscosmos informed the President of Kazakhstan about the successful launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome to the International Space Station of the Progress-MS11 cargo spacecraft.
- We set a world record yesterday. Earlier, a transport ship or crew reached the ISS in a multi-turn pattern within forty-eight hours. Yesterday the ship made two revolutions, approaching the station and docking occurred within 3 hours and 21 minutes. Flight from Moscow to Baikonur takes about three hours, from Baikonur to the ISS it takes about 3 hours now. Now the task is to work out an even shorter scheme, Dmitry Rogozin said.
In addition, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the space sector, as well as the progress in actualizing the joint Kazakh-Russian space project Baiterek.
